Box Styles Panel


Audience: Any User Edition: Team, Enterprise, & Premium


Box Styles are a quick way to format boxes within an org chart. OrgChart Now includes a library of predefined (System) Box Styles. You can also create your own (User) Box Styles as needed.

The Box Styles Panel can be found in the lower right-hand side of the user interface with the rest of the Side Panels.

Managing Box Styles

The Box Styles panel provides an interface for applying and managing Box Styles. There are three available libraries; one built in and two configurable by users:


Available predefined library of Box Styles that cannot be modified.


The Shared box styles library allows created box styles to be accessed between users.


The User box styles library is where users create or edit box styles only accessible to that user.

Box Styles Toolbar

In the Box Styles panel, the following tools are available:


Add a new Box Style. If a box in the chart is selected when clicking this icon, it will be used as the starting point for the new template.


Edit selected Box Style using the Box Layout Editor.


Replaces existing Box Style:

  • Users can select a desired box in the chart, then select a created Box Style in the Box Style panel. Clicking the icon will replace the existing Box Style in the panel.

  • Only applicable to the Shared and User libraries.


Delete selected Box Style.


Duplicate selected Box Style.


Rename selected Box Style.


Reorder selected Box Style up.


Reorder selected Box Style down.


Save changes to Shared/User Box Styles.


Note: When this icon is BLUE, changes that you have made have not yet been saved.


Discard changes to Shared/User Box Styles.
