Filtering Data

Audience: Users Edition: Enterprise & Premium

Optionally, when using the Chart Builder, you can filter out records prior to creating an OrgChart Document. For example, you can exclude all ‘Interns’ from the generated chart.

Note: OrgChart Builder is accessed in the Viewer and generates a chart that can be edited in the Workbench environment.

Filtering within OrgChart Builder
  1. In the OrgChart BuilderOrgChart Viewer panel, select the Filter Data tab.

  2. Select the Specify data filter checkbox. In some cases, you may need to use a complex rule for your filter (See Complex Filters section below).

  3. To define a rule:

    • Select a Field (e.g. Contractor)

    • Select a Comparison (e.g. Equals)

    • Select a value (e.g. N). Use the pencil to manually type a value.

  4. Select Filter Settings as appropriate (see table below).

  5. After you click the Go button, any records that do not meet the filter criteria will be excluded form the resulting OrgChart document.
