Dynamic Formulas

Overview

An administrator can add custom formulas for display in OrgChart Viewer. Formulas can be displayed in org chart boxes and in the Profile Panel.

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to create a Dynamic Formula in OrgChart Now Viewer.

Accessing the Formula Editor

Select More > Chart Settings, and then select the Chart Builder option from the Settings dropdown menu.

Add a new Dynamic Formula using one of the following three methods:

  • Click on the linked text "No Values. Click here to add." if you have not yet added a Dynamic Formula

  • Click on the Screen_Shot_2020-11-09_at_3_35_54_PM.png icon associated with the Dynamic Formula heading.

  • Click on the Screen_Shot_2020-11-09_at_3_36_01_PM.png icon to import a Dynamic Formula from a different Master Chart.

Defining a New Dynamic Formula

The following example demonstrates how to create a formula that averages employee salary for a specific location.

  1. Click on the + icon associated with the Dynamic Formula heading.

  2. Click on AVERAGEIF from the Formula Type dropdown. The Formula Editor panel will be displayed.

  3. Name the formula "Average U.S. Salary," and then configure the formula as it shown below.

    Note

    Note: When setting the conditions for this rule, you must use brackets around the Field, a Comparison Operator, and then a valid string or number value.

  4. Click Save to close the Formula Editor, and then Save , Refresh , and Exit the Chart Builder panel.

  5. Add this custom formula to chart boxes, or to the Profile.

Additional Options

To edit an existing formula:

  • Mouse over a formula, and then click on the Sorting_options_WB_Builder_-_Copy.png icon.

To copy an existing formula:

  • Mouse over a formula, and then click on the page.png icon.
